Cop dies, four others hurt in multiple vehicle mishap in Isabela

SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, Philippines — A police car barreled into three vehicles at the national highway when its tire burst, killing a policewoman and injuring four of her colleagues in Barangay Sinsayon on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 20.

Patrolman Archelle Duldulao was thrown off the vehicle and died instantly when she was ran over by an oncoming vehicle during the melee.

The police car then crashed into the concrete fence of the Villa Ceferina Subdivision, injuring the driver, Corporal Berna Austria, and her passengers Patrolmen Pauline Carlos and Riza Mae Laureta and Corporal Kacelyn Tarayao — all members of the City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) of the Santiago City Police Office.

The highway smashup involved a Brown Mux SUV driven by Liza Santos-Pua of Alicia town, who was headed for Santiago City, a tricycle driven by John Eduard Molina of Turod Sur village in Cordon town and a motorcycle driven by Ivan Ray Catolico Sal, also of Turod Sur.

Sal’s back rider Aubrey Viundo Labog walked away from the accident with minor bruises.
