PH Covid-19 cases now at 559, 288 with 2,240 new infections
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) Saturday reported 2,240 new infections of Covid-19, bringing the total tally in the Philippines to 559,120.
Of the total cases, 34,100 are active cases, of which 86.7 percent are mild, 8.2 percent are asymptomatic, 2.3 percent are critical and 0.68 percent are moderate.
There were also 504 new recoveries and 239 additional deaths, putting the total to 513, 120, and 12,068, respectively.
There were 10 duplicates, of which six were recoveries that were removed from the total case count.
Moreover, 167 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation, the DOH added.
