Rains bring floods, landslides to parts of Eastern Visayas
TACLOBAN CITY—Unrelenting rains have brought flooding and landslides in Eastern Visayas.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said in a report that flooding had rendered roads in many areas impassable to vehicles.
Flooding was reported in the towns of Quinapondan, Llorente and Arteche in Eastern Samar and parts of Northern Samar.
The town proper of Quinapondan saw one of its worst flooding which sent floodwaters into houses and public facilities.
Floodwaters also damaged the Tinago Elementary School and equipment like laptops, printers and supplies like bond papers.
Flooding was also reported in parts of Leyte, including La Paz town and Tacloban City and also in the town of Santa Rita in Samar province.
