A Quezon police report said Darrel Castillo, with Mary Joy Rañosa as back-rider, was traversing the Mauban–Real road when they collided with another motorcycle driven by Rogelio Morales, which came from the opposite direction in Barangay Malapad around 1:30 p.m.
Castillo, Rañosa, and John Michael Frades, Morales’ back-rider, suffered grave injuries from the head-on collision and were taken to the nearest hospital, but Castillo died on the way.
