Eastern Samar governor: Any Covid-19 vaccine brand is OK

TACLOBAN CITY – Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone has expressed his willingness to receive any brand of Covid-19 vaccine to encourage his constituents to likewise get vaccinated.

“I am willing to be vaccinated by any vaccine, even those made from China, as long as they pass all the proper regulatory procedures like (from the) Food and Drugs Administration, Department of Health and the Department of Science and Technology,” the governor said.

“We need to build public confidence on these vaccines to attain herd immunity and ensure economic recovery,” he added.

Evardone said the province has earmarked P500 million for the procurement of vaccines and other needed equipment.

The provincial government started the registration period for those who want t be vaccinated two weeks ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, Eastern Samar has logged 1,154 COVID-19 cases with 27 deaths.
