DPWH prods public: Report road defects to Hotline 16502
MANILA, Philippines — Spotted some potholes and road chinks along the way? Then the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) wants you.
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar on Thursday urged the public to report any defects on national roads that need fixing.
In a statement, Villar said: “The general public may report any defect or concern along national roads that need immediate rectification and we will do our best to implement palliative measures, if not long-term solutions.”
“Through the DPWH Secretary’s Hotline 16502 which is operational 24/7, social media platforms, we can promptly attend to complaints on road damage and other DPWH-related concerns,” he added.
Villar cited recently reported complaints about the damaged steel on a manhole along Aurora Boulevard in Sta. Cruz, Manila that was addressed a day after it was brought to DPWH’s attention.
The agency also fixed a reported pothole along Novaliches-San Jose Road in Caloocan City near North Caloocan Doctors Hospital and removed an illegally-installed hump across Oroquieta Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
