More cold days ahead for dwellers in northern Luzon, eastern part of PH
MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring cold weather and light rains over a vast portion of the country, especially in North Luzon and eastern parts of the country like the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) indicated that amihan’s surge remains prevalent and might not slow down anytime soon.
From Tuesday night to Wednesday, light rains can be expected in the above-mentioned regions plus Cagayan Valley, and the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather, but scattered light rains may occur in the afternoon and night, due to isolated rain showers, according to the weather agency.
With the northeast monsoon being the current dominant weather system, Pagasa does not anticipate any low-pressure area or tropical cyclones to form over the Pacific Ocean or near the Philippine area of responsibility for the rest of the week.
