PH’s Covid-19 cases climb to 516,166 with 1,173 new cases

\MANILA, Philippines — The total number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 516,166 with 1,173 new cases, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Tuesday.

Of the total cases, 30,357 are active cases, where 84.9 percent are mild, 8.4 percent are asymptomatic, 3.8 percent are critical, 2.5 percent are severe and 0.50 percent are moderate.

Aside from this, the DOH also reported 18 new recoveries and 94 new deaths, bringing the total to 475,423 and 10,386, respectively.

There were three duplicates, of which two were recoveries, that were removed from the total case count.

The DOH also said that there were 15 cases previously tagged as recovered, but were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

And nine labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on Jan. 25, the DOH added.
