New LPA spotted off Aurora province
Expect cloudy skies and rainy weather again across Luzon and parts of Visayas on Thursday as a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 100 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora province, the government weather service said. The weather system is expected to interact with the tail end of the frontal system, resulting in thunderstorms over several provinces in Luzon, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, but it will not likely develop into a tropical depression. However, the public is advised to be vigilant for flooding and rain-induced landslides, especially in areas susceptible to these hazards or in localities that have received significant rainfall in the past few days or weeks. —JHESSET O.
