/ 07:10 AM February 02, 2012

BOXING action in Cebu moves south when Along “The Boholano Bulldog” Denoy trades punches with Jason Canoy of the Omega Gym of Mabolo, Cebu City this Saturday in a ten-round non-title bout at the Dalaguete Gymnasium.

Denoy (32W-9L-4D, 19 KOs), who hails from Candijay, Bohol, has been a regular of the small fight cards of ALA Promotions. Last year, he had a technical draw against Charlie Cabilla in a free to the public fight card during Sinulog 2011 at the Gaisano Country Mall carpark. He would lose in Japan to Suguru Muranaka but bounced back with a second round TKO win over Henry Acha in Iloilo last September.

Canoy (12W-2L-1D, 8 KOs) lost in his bid to win the Philippine light flyweight title last year in San Remigio to Jerson Mancio by unanimous decision. He knocked out Erwin Pulvera in one round at the Hoops Dome but would lose in his first overseas fight in Thailand by 7th round technical decision to Oleydong Sithsamerchai last Oct. 28.
