Quarantine a must for virus-exposed PNP employees

/ 04:33 AM January 11, 2021

The Philippine National Police will require its employees who have been exposed to COVID-19 patients without any protective gear to go into mandatory quarantine. Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP deputy chief for administration and head of the administrative support for COVID-19 task force, also said all policemen must wear masks and face shields inside police stations and offices to “strengthen efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the organization.” “Let this serve as a warning to all our personnel to wear both a mask and a face shield at all times and treat everybody in the police stations, camps or PNP offices as potential carriers of the coronavirus,” he said. A total of 9,241 PNP employees have been infected since March last year, of which 28 have died. —Jeannette I. Andrade
