MANILA, Philippines — A total of P1,584,850 worth of assistance has been given to families affected by the flooding and landslides in the Western Visayas and Bicol regions due to the tail-end of a frontal system, Malacañang said Sunday.

In a statement, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the assistance was provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, local government units, and private partners.

Thousands in the Western Visayas and Bicol regions are forced to flee their houses as the tail-end of a frontal system pounded their areas with incessant rain which causes floods. This came after the seasonal weather system submerged towns from the said regions to floodwaters earlier this month.
