Bicol logs 50 COVID-19 cases in a single day

LEGAZPI CITY – The Bicol region has logged 50 coronavirus disease  2019 (COVID-19) cases on Friday, the highest contagion rate recorded for the week (Dec. 13 to 18) in the region, the Department of Health (DOH) said,

The DOH COVD tracker update as of Friday showed  that Masbate had the most number of new cases with 35, followed by  Camarines Sur (six), Albay (five) and Sorsogon and Camarines Norte with one each.

The remaining patients are transients from Bacolod City and Dumangas, Iloilo.

From March to Dec. 18, the Bicol region has recorded 3,487 COVID-19 cases (2,907 recoveries, 433 active cases and 147 deaths.

The Bicol Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emergence Infectious Disease (BIATF) urged the public to be vigilant and strictly follow the health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 especially during the Christmas holidays.
