Cops tagged in Benguet abduction, murder
BAGUIO CITY – Police officers were involved in the abduction of a 25-year-old man who was later found decapitated in a ravine in Tublay, Benguet, a police official here said.
Col. Allen Rae Co, Baguio City police chief, on Wednesday said the involved police officers were members of the drug enforcement unit of the Cordillera Regional Police Office.
He said the suspects were immediately disarmed and placed under the restrictive custody of Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, Cordillera regional police director .
“We have evidence that the suspects were the ones who kidnapped the victim. We cannot just assume, but the general assumption is they were also responsible for the death of the victim, but that will not suffice in court, we will have to gather evidence,” Co said at a press briefing.
Policemen are still trying to locate the victim’s head.
