ELEVEN municipalities in Negros Oriental will be included in the Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan- Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7).

These municipalities, which have a poverty incidence rate of at least 33 percent, are Ayungon, Bindoy, Jimalalud, Mabinay, Manjuyod, Vallehermoso, Basay, Pamplona, Dauin, Sta. Catalina and Zamboanguita, said DSWD-7 information officer Aileen Lariba.

The Kalahi-CIDSS, Lariba explained, is a community-driven development program that aims to empower communities by providing livelihood projects to the poor families. The project has been recognized by the World Bank as one of the top five anti-poverty programs of government in Bohol and in Siquijor.
