Man, 4-yr-old son dead in Oriental Mindoro landslide
CITY OF CALAPAN—A man and his son were killed in a landslide early on Friday (Dec. 4) in Naujan town, Oriental Mindoro province.
Lt. Col. Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa regional police information officer, said Jaypee Festijo, 28, a fisherman and his four-year-old son, Ybarro, were sleeping in their house when the landslide unleashed mud and rocks on their house at the village of Bayani around 5 a.m. Both died instantly.
Initial investigation results said heavy rains have been pummelling the area before the landslide.
The probe is continuing.
