Moreno to level up security in Divisoria to remind shoppers of health protocols
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Wednesday said the city government will tighten its security to remind shoppers in Divisoria of the health protocols during the season when people flock to buy Christmas goods in Manila.
“Una, hindi ko kayo mabibigyan ng garantiya na hindi mag-overcrowd ang Divisoria because ang Divisoria ay puntahan ng mga mamimili hindi lang ng mga batang Maynila at hindi lang taga Metro Manila including Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon kasi ‘yan ang sentro ng distributors. Maraming namimili para ibenta rin sa kanilang mga probinsya o lugar dahil talagang bilihan, pasko e,” said Moreno over dzMM, responding on a query about maintaining physical distancing in Divisoria to prevent virus transmission.
(First, I cannot guarantee that Divisoria will not be overcrowded because Divisoria does not only cater to shoppers in Manila but also for those in other regions including Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon because it is the center for distributors. They buy goods which they will resell in their respective areas because it’s Christmas.)
“We will continue to manage the influx of people. We will put order in our own little way, we will reinforce our effort na maglagay ng mga COVID marshal natin at additional enforcement unit na para magpaalala. We will continue to remind the people to really care for themselves and i-practice iyong self-discipline,” he said.
