Marikina River water level rises to 21.5 meters, 3rd alarm up

MANILA, Philippines — Marikina River’s water level rose to over 21 meters due to Typhoon Ulysses which prompted the city government to raise the third alarm Thursday morning.

As of 7:30 a.m., Marikina River’s water level was at 21.5 meters, the city government said in a social media post.

The third alarm, however, was raised hours earlier, when the water level rose to over 18 meters.

“Marikina River water level is 18 meters as of 3:18 am third alarm,” the Marikina Public Information Office said in an earlier  statement.
