Palace aide welcomes raps vs SC spokesman
MANILA, Philippines — A Malacañang aide on Saturday welcomed the complaint for graft and abuse filed against Supreme Court spokesman and court administrator Jose Midas Marquez.
“We have always stated that the World Bank report did contain a list ineligible expensses,” said Abigail Valte, one of President Benigno Aquino III’s spokespersons.
“This concerns public funds because public funds will be used to pay off that loan that they took out and certainly, if we are going to look for accountability, we have to go through due process,” she added in a radio interview.
“If he would be made to answer, he would be given due process, then this is okay with us,” Valte said, referring to the complaint filed by the partylist Akbayan at the Office of the Ombudsman.
