10 Eastern Samar teachers test positive for COVID-19
TACLOBAN CITY –– At least 10 high school teachers from Salcedo town in Eastern Samar tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
A report from the Eastern Samar provincial health office said these teachers developed influenza-like illness, sore throat, and cough, as well as loss of their sense of taste and smell.
All of them have been isolated in their town’s facility, while the municipal government did contact tracing.
It was not yet unclear how these teachers acquired the disease.
The Department of Health said the teachers were part of the 157 new COVID-19 cases in Eastern Visayas.
Salcedo Mayor Melchor Mergal appealed to the people to cooperate and observe the health protocols to avoid the spread of the virus.
