TD Pepito update: Signal No. 1 raised over parts of Isabela, Aurora
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was raised on Monday over parts of provinces Isabela and Aurora due to Tropical Depression Pepito.
In its severe weather bulletin, Pagasa said the eastern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Dinapigue, the eastern portion of San Mariano) and northern portion of Aurora (Dinalungan, Casiguran, Dilasag) have been placed under signal number 1.
These areas are expected to have winds with speeds ranging from 30 kilometers per hour to 60 kph.
Intermittent rains within 36 hours could also be expected, Pagasa said.

“Pepito” was last located 475 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving west at 30 kph.
Meanwhile, light to moderate to at times heavy rains are expected in Quezon, Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangasamoro region, Caraga region, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.
Pagasa warned that flash floods and landslides are possible in rain-affected areas.
The state weather bureau likewise warned that based on available meteorological data, Signal No. 1 may be raised over the eastern portion of Quirino and other municipalities in Isabela and Aurora later on.
The northeasterly surface windflow, which is partly enhanced by “Pepito”, may bring strong-force to near gale-force winds with occasional gusts over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the coastal and mountainous areas of northern Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon and Northern Samar.
The state weather bureau likewise raised a gale warning over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Isabela due to rough to very rough seas brought about by the northeasterly surface windflow.
Sea travel is risky in the said areas, Pagasa said, especially for small vessels.
Meanwhile, moderate to rough seas may be experienced in the next 24 hours over the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon and Bicol region and the seaboards of Northern Samar and Eastern Samar due to “Pepito” and the northeasterly surface windflow.
Pagasa advised those with small sea vessels to “take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea.”
