10 Pagadian City barangays on lockdown to arrest COVID-19 spread
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Ten neighborhoods in this were placed on lockdown starting Oct. 13 following a spike in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections.
Mayor Samuel Co ordered the granular lockdowns as the city’s active cases climbed to 21 due to new infections in the following barangys: San Francisco, Tuburan, San Jose, Tiguma, Santiago, San Pedro, Kawit, Lenienza, Bogo and Kagawasan.
Four more patients who are residents of the city got the virus but they are currently on quarantine in other areas, according to Dr. Noel Ceniza, spokesperson of the local COVID-19 task force.
Ceniza said all the cases are considered as community transmission as they failed to trace the particular exposure of each patient and hence the likely source of their infection.
The 14-day lockdown will end on Oct. 27.
