Regional DA office in Cagayan Valley shut after 3 employees infected with COVID-19
TUGUEGARAO CITY –– The Department of Agriculture-Cagayan Valley regional office here was closed for disinfection starting Monday until Friday after three of its employees contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), authorities said.
Narciso Edillo, director of the Department of Agriculture-Cagayan Valley, said they would carry out mass swab testing for the other employees, who could have been exposed to the virus-infected employees.
He said the source of the infection was a driver, who contracted the virus from his brother, who came home from abroad. The other two virus-infected employees are engineers.
But Edillo said the temporary closure of the office would not affect the government’s agriculture programs, especially the distribution of assistance, since most of their employees have been working from home.
