8 cops among new COVID-19 patients in Olongapo City

SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES –– Eight policemen are among the 27 new patients who contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Olongapo City as of the weekend, authorities said.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the policemen, aged 31-55, were exposed to an infected colleague.

Paulino said a 68-year-old man in the city also died of the disease on Friday after he contracted the virus from his 69-year-old wife.

The new COVID-19 cases raised to 522 the city’s total tally since the pandemic began, 240 of whom are active.
