Reaching out to schoolkids
ABOITIZLAND Inc., through the Aboitiz Foundation, celebrated Christmas with schoolchildren.
Employee-volunteers led by AboitizLand president and chief executive officer Andoni Aboitiz spearheaded the feeding program and gift-giving. They gave meal to each of the more than 90 children.
“We are glad to be of help and make children happy. AboitizLand and its passionate workforce will continue to assist the kids in getting the right nutrients they need daily so that malnutrition will not be a reason for kids to miss their classes,” said AboitizLand community relations officer Corazon Baybay.
The children received treasure boxes from Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational evangelical organization in the United States that provides spiritual and physical aid to marginalized people all over the world. The boxes were filled with toys, personal hygiene items, school supplies and envelopes with stamps from children and donors in the US.
The Christmas party supplemented the company’s ongoing feeding program for selected students of Gabi Elementary School. The graduating class of the Don Calixto Yongco Sr., Barangay Tawason Elementary School is under an enhanced learning project of AboitizLand employees, the You Can Be a Hero Program.
Gabi Elementary School and Don Calixto Yongco Elementary school are two of AboitizLand’s adopted schools. The students of both schools benefit from various initiatives of the company throughout the year.
