Woman found hanging dead in Oslob home
AFTER two failed attempts, a 33-year-old woman in Oslob town, southern Cebu, finally succeeded in ending her life by hanging herself at dawn yesterday.
Marites Baldolomar, a native of Pangasinan, was found with a nylon rope tied around her neck and the other end strung to the beam of her house in barangay Hagdan.
Police said Baldolomar and her common-law husband, Michael Luzada, had an argument before she was found dead.
Luzada told police that he lost P20 in a basketball game and Baldolomar got upset when she learned about it.
Luzada, a carpenter, said he went to bed with their 3-year-old child after the argument.
Luzada said he woke up around midnight and was shocked to see his wife suspended from the beam about one meter from their bed.

Police said it was the woman’s third suicide attempt.
In March 2010, the woman tried to poison herself by drinking a liniment oil. The woman tried to commit suicide anew last November by slashing her wrist with a blade./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
