1 dead, P1-M ‘shabu’ seized  in Bicol drug stings

LEGAZPI city — A suspected drug personality was killed and over a P1 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) was seized in separate police drug stings on Thursday in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said in a report Friday that an alleged high-value target (HVT) was killed in one of the drug operations, while two others were arrested.

Juhaiber Ote, 31, a native of Marawi City and residing in Barangay Oro Site in Legazpi City, was slain when he resisted arrest during a drug operation at Doña Maria Subd., Barangay Tagas of Daraga, Albay at 7:10 p.m.

Police operatives recovered from Ote a medium-sized sachet of shabu and a hand gun of unknown caliber.

In Nabua, Camarines Sur, HVT suspect Mae Hazel Agapito, 37, resident of Barangay San Miguel in Iriga City, was arrested, while selling shabu at a drug operation  in Barangay Sta. Elena Baras at 2:50 p.m. The suspect yielded 172 grams of shabu worth P1.1 million.

In Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, Leoncio Caparas Jr., 33, of Barangay Motherlode, was caught in possession of three sachets of shabu at a buy-bust operation in Barangay Luklukan Sur, around 4:30 p.m.
