LPA to bring rains in Bicol, Southern Luzon as it nears landmass
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) east of Luzon is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains in Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa as it makes its approach towards the landmass.
Weather reports from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon said that LPA was last seen 95 kilometers east northeast of Daet in Camarines Norte.
While it is expected to dissolve when it hits land, and no longer progress to a tropical depression, rains would still be felt in these areas due to the cloud bands the LPA brings.
Pagasa warned residents in the areas mentioned that flooding and rainfall-induced landslides may be possible in low-lying areas and mountain slopes, respectively.
But for the rest of Luzon, weather would be warm and humid by daytime with temperatures of 24 to 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 24 to 33 degrees in Laoag, and 23 to 35 degrees in Tuguegarao.
Other areas south of Metro Manila may have colder temperatures, like Tagaytay with 21 to 30 degrees Celsius, and 25 to 32 degrees for Palawan and Legazpi.

As of now, no gale warning is raised in any part of the country, as sea condition all over the country is slight to moderate. However, such conditions on the country’s western seaboards may change during thunderstorms, where waves may be slightly rougher. [ac]
