MANILA, Philippines — Former Calauan Mayor Antonio Sanchez has been hospitalized after showing symptoms of COVID-19.

Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said Sanchez was taken to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa but he was turned down due to lack of available space for probable COVID-19 cases.

“May sakit siya, complicated. Dinala siya sa OsMun [Ospital ng Muntinlupa] kagabi ng [Monday] 7 p.m. pero ‘di siya tinanggap dahil wala na raw space for probable COVID patient,” Chaclag said.
