2 women who died just days after infection listed as Quezon town’s first COVID-19 fatalities
LUCENA CITY—Lucban town in Quezon province on Thursday (Aug. 27) reported its first two COVID-19 fatalities, both women, who died just a week and days after being infected.
Authorities reported on a Facebook post that one of the fatalities was from the village of 9 and the other from the village of Tinaman.
No details were made available.
One of the women tested positive for SARS Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19, last Aug. 20 and the other was infected last Aug. 25.
According to the local government’s record, Lucban has 15 COVID-19 cases with five recoveries.
The Lucban fatalities brought the COVID-19 death toll in the province to 33 as of 10 a.m. on Thursday.
