Five more health workers from Eastern Visayas COVID-19- infected
TACLOBAN CITY — Five more health workers from Eastern Visayas were infected with the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The five health workers from the towns of Pastrana, Tanauan, Palo, and Tacloban City, all in Leyte province; and Naval in Biliran province, were among the 111 new COVID-19 cases in the region on Wednesday.
Dr. Minerva Molon, regional director of the Department of Health (DOH), said these health workers were asymptomatic.
Since the pandemic started, Eastern Visayas has 275 health workers who contracted the virus.
The region currently has a total of 2,474 COVID-19 cases.
Molon reminded the public to follow the health protocols to contain the spread of the virus.
Article continues after this advertisement“If you will go out of your homes, please use a face mask and observe social distancing. Also please give your contact details every time you are required. It will serve as a guide for our contact tracers,” she said.
