Probers smell arson in fire that gutted 13 impounded buses in Tuguegarao
TUGUEGARAO CITY—Blackened frames were all that was left of 13 impounded buses that caught on fire here in a case that investigators suspect could be arson, authorities said.
City Fire Marshal Pedro Espinosa said the buses were being kept inside the compound of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) at the village of Carig Sur.
Espinosa said 100 other public utility vehicles near the impounding area were spared during the fire.
Firefighters from this city and nearby towns of Iguig, Solana and Penablanca helped put the fire out.
A fireman suffered minor wounds after tripping over while helping put out the fire.
