Palace greets Chinese community on eve of Lunar New Year

MANILA, Philippines—On the eve of the Chinese New Year, Malacañang sent its well-wishes to the ethnic Chinese-Filipino community.

“We would like to say that we also share their hopes that 2012 will be more productive and more prosperous for our entire country,” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said.

The Year of the Water Dragon begins on Monday, January 23. Feng shui experts have forecast a volatile year for business and the economy.
