NCR mayors to pass ordinance requiring dwellers to wear face shields in public
MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila chief executives have agreed to pass an ordinance that would require the wearing of face shields aside from face masks, Parañaque City Mayor and Metro Manila Council (MMC) chairman Edwin Olivarez said Wednesday.
“Ang face shield, ang gagawin muna ngayon, sisitahin muna sila kasi gagawan ng ordinansa tulad ng sa amin, magkakaroon kami ng ordinansa sa face shield para may penalty na tulad ng face mask,” Olivarez said over Teleradyo when sought for comment about the latest health protocol to beat COVID-19.
(For face shield, what we will do for now is we will just warn them because we will still come up with an ordinance just like in our city, we will create an ordinance for face shields so there will be penalties like the ordinance on the wearing of face masks.)
“‘Yun po ang aming pinag-usapan pero mayroong particular na ordinansa na gagawin ang city councils,” the mayor added.
(That’s what we talked about but we have a particular ordinance that will be done by city councils.)
