US donates 100 ventilators worth about P78M to PH
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines, through the Department of Foreign Affairs, has received a “kind offer” of 100 units of ventilators valued at $1,557,520 or around P77.9 million from the government of the United States, Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said Monday.

In a text message to INQUIRER.net, the DFA said the ventilators to be donated to the Philippines through the United States Agency for International Development are intended to be given to the Department of Health, “in support of the Philippines’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“The donation, valued approximately at $1,557,520.00 or PhP 77.9 million, is in line with the US Government’s longstanding commitment to the Philippines; and part of the US’ global efforts to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the department said.
As of July 20, the overall amount of US assistance to the Philippines for its response efforts to the coronavirus disease 2019 has reached nearly P981 million or $19.8 million.
