QR code on QC resident’s quarantine pass makes phone to search ‘hello’
MANILA, Philippines — A quick response (QR) code printed on quarantine passes is used by authorities to prove if the person is authorized to carry the pass.
In this case, a Quezon City resident found that her QR code makes her search the word, “hello.”
In a Facebook post on Friday, Vannezza Aranas said after using her camera to scan the QR code of her quarantine pass from Barangay Batasan Hills, her phone automatically leads to searching “hello.”
She said she was not mad about the result of her scan as she even laughed at what her QR code can search.
“Scanned the QR Code on my Quarantine Pass… dito ko dinala. (They redirected me here.) PS: di ako BV ha, (I did not have bad vibes.) tbh, this really made my day. Laugh trip, thank you QC,” she wrote.

The first search result on Aranas’ phone was Adele’s song “Hello,” which was released in 2015.
Quarantine passes were again required for people going outside to purchase essential goods as the government placed Metro Manila under modified enhanced community quarantine to limit the movement of the people. [ac]
