Man killed, pal hurt in Danao shooting

A 46-YEAR-OLD water refilling station technician was killed while his 40-year-old friend was wounded when two unidentified men shot them last Thursday afternoon in barangay Looc, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Police ruled out robbery as a motive since none of their valuables were taken.

Police investigation revealed that Cristino Balawta and his friend Jerry Urungan were walking along a road when two men who waited for them at the roadside shot them.

Balawta died on the spot. He suffered 14 gunshot wounds in the body.

Urungan was able to run away and went straight to the Danao City Hospital.
