/ 05:22 AM August 06, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — Joint Task Force COVID Shield has suspended the issuance of travel authority for people stranded in Metro Manila and other areas that are under the modified enhanced community quarantine.

Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, task force chief, said only those considered as authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) would be allowed to cross the borders of cities and municipalities.

“If you are not an APOR, stay at home because if you go outside, you can be arrested,” he said, adding that 289,000 quarantine violators were arrested nationwide from March 17 to Aug. 3. Eleazar said individuals who needed to buy essential goods, or avail of essential services should always bring their quarantine passes.
