/ 04:34 AM August 04, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate will impose its own lockdown on its premises for two weeks in solidarity with the country’s front-line health workers who had called for stricter quarantine measures to give them a respite from the rising COVID-19 cases in the country.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III said that Senate sessions would be suspended during its self-imposed enhanced community quarantine from Aug. 4 to Aug. 19. —Leila B. Salaverria
