MANILA, Philippines — With President Rodrigo Duterte seeking the revival of the death penalty, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said on Wednesday that people caught with at least 50 grams to one kilo of illegal drugs should be sentenced to death.

He said the death penalty should be meted out to “those who are really involved to a certain degree higher than the ordinary peddlers on the streets.’’
