Bohol records 13 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

TAGBILARAN CITY- The province of Bohol has recorded 13 new cases and one death due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday, the highest single-day tally since the start of the pandemic.

Six of the new cases are from Tagbilaran City.

According to Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II, the new cases in the city involve a 25-year-old male overseas Filipino worker (OFW), a 37-year-old female locally stranded individual (LSI), a 29-year-old female OFW, a 26-year-old male LSI, a 48-year-old male authorized person outside of residence (APOR), and 30-year-old male APOR.

The other new cases in Bohol came from Tubigon (two cases), Ubay (two cases), and one each from the towns of Alicia, Carmen, and Danao.

The patient from Danao died at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).

Gov. Arthur Yap said the provincial health office has been coordinating with the various municipal health officers of the concerned local government units for contact tracing activities.

He appealed to residents to continue observing the minimum health standards such as wearing a face mask and physical distancing even as the province was placed under a more relaxed modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until July 31.

As of July 17, Bohol has 67 cases of COVID-19 where 12 were active with 41 recoveries and two deaths.
