San Juan’s Agora Market reopens with stricter health protocols
MANILA, Philippines — Agora Public Market in San Juan City reopened on Thursday, 15 days after it was shut down for disinfection of facilities and COVID-19 testing of vendors.
Mayor Francis Zamora said vendors will start wearing blue IDs which serves as a clearance that they are free from COVID-19.
“Sa muling pagbubukas ng Agora Market ngayong araw, ang mga vendors, staff at empleyado lamang na may health clearance (blue ID) ang pwede magtinda at magtrabaho,” Zamora said in a Facebook post.
(Agora Market will reopen today. Only vendors and employees with health clearance will be allowed to work.)

All market employees and customers, likewise, are required to wear face masks and observe physical distancing to curb the spread of COVID-19, Zamora said.
Zamora also advised the public to report violators of health protocols to the San Juan police and city government’s Task Force Disiplina for appropriate sanctions.
In a previous report, Zamora revealed that 26 out of 647 personnel in Agora Public Market were infected with COVID-19. The virus-hit individuals were transferred to health centers and hospitals for treatment.
