No more going straight to home quarantine for stranded persons returning to Naga City
LEGAZPI CITY—Authorities in Naga City would no longer allow stranded individuals to go on home quarantine upon their return, blaming the arrivals for a spike in COVID-19 cases in Naga.
Naga Mayor Nelson Legacion on Sunday (June 28) issued a directive to bar stranded individuals from going straight on home quarantine if they came from infected places.
The mayor, in his order, said arriving stranded individuals would be brought directly to quarantine facilities being operated by the city government and, after seven days, would be tested for coronavirus.
Stranded individuals who are able to return to their families in Naga with no documentation and coordination with the InterAgency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases would be taken from their homes and quarantined along with members of their households.
The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol reported that seven new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Sunday, all of which are from Naga City. This brings to a total of 28 the number of COVID-19 cases in Camarines Sur.
