Basilan COVID-19 tally now 3
COTABATO CITY—-Basilan province now has three COVID-19 cases, according to the Bangsamoro health ministry.
Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, Bangsamoro health minister, said the patient is a 37-year-old woman from Kulaybato village in Lamitan City.
She is the wife of a man who earlier tested positive for coronavirus and was tagged as the second COVID-19 case in the province.
Dipatuan said the woman has shown no symptoms of the virus and is in a stable condition but on quarantine in a facility of the city government.
Basilan was largely spared from the COVID-19 outbreak, just like the other island provinces of Sulu and Tawi-tawi in the Bangsamoro autonomous region.
The COVID-19 cases in the Bangsamoro region are highest in Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur where the tally has spiked due to the arrival of stranded individuals and overseas Filipinos.
