‘Lockdown’ of SC justice in Visayas delays case
The case of the 22 political detainees who sought to be temporarily freed to avoid contracting COVID-19 in overcrowded jails has been held up for two months since the Supreme Court justice assigned to it has been locked down in the Visayas because of canceled flights.
Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta said that if the member in charge still cannot make it back to Manila by Tuesday, the court “probably will resort to videoconferencing.” —DONA Z. PAZZIBUGAN
