ECHAGUE, Isabela—A lull of one month with no new COVID-19 cases ended for the province on Tuesday (June 9) with one patient testing positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes the disease.

The new infection was that of a resident of San Fabian village here, according to Mayor Faustino Francis Dy.

It was confirmed by test results released on Tuesday, said Jacqueline Buduan, the town’s health officer.

Buduan said authorities are now contact tracing, or hunting persons who have had contact with the infected man. The new case prompted the local government to place the town on phase one of general community quarantine, again.
