IATF: Quarantine protocol recommendations set on or before June 15

MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Task Force on Infectious Diseases (IATF) will give its recommendation to the President whether or not quarantine measures in Metro Manila will be further loosened or tightened anew on or before June 15.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Tuesday said the IATF will meet again on Wednesday where they will study newly analyzed data on the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) trend in the country.

They can make their resolution and recommend it to the President as early as Wednesday but no later than June 15.

“Tomorrow, there will be another IATF meeting, at magpe-present dito yung technical working group for data analytics. Dito makikita ‘yung kabuuang sitwasyon down to the granular data in the barangays,” Año said in a televised Cabinet press briefing.

(Tomorrow, there will be another IATF meeting, the  TWG will present data where we will see the whole COVID-19 situation in the country down to the granular data in the barangays.)

“So by tomorrow, if the IATF will be able to make a resolution or a recommendation, ibibigay namin ito sa Pangulo,” he added.

On June 1, the country saw a further loosening of quarantine protocols as Metro Manila transitioned to general community quarantine (GCQ) from modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ)
