Cordova DILG officer cited most outstanding employee
THE municipal local government operation officer (MLGOO) of DILG was awarded most outstanding national government employee in Cordova during the 99th Foundation Day of the municipality held at the Cordova Sports Complex.
Evelyn Peñas was recognized for her contributions in the municipal and barangay councils for the protection of children that led to the rescue of children who were allegedly exploited by their relatives in barangay Ibabao.
She was also recognized for her valuable technical assistance to the municipal and barangay development councils. thus making possible the simultaneous conduct of barangay assemblies in the 13 barangays of the municipality.
Despite being a resident of Talamban, Cebu City, Peñas reports on time daily in her Cordova office.
Peñas has been assigned in Cordova since November 2010. She was formerly a psychologist of the Department of Social Welfare and Development from 1989 to 1992, after which, she transferred to the DILG and was assigned to Mandaue then to Compostela as MLGOO.
