5 nabbed in Quezon drugs busts
LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested five suspected drug pushers in this city, and the towns of Gumaca and Lopez in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Quezon province on Wednesday night, reports said Thursday.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said anti-narcotics agents arrested Clifford Veluya and Val Angelo Galit after they sold dried marijuana leaves to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in Lucena City around 11:30 p.m.
The suspects yielded three plastic sachets of marijuana weighing 44 grams worth P15,840 in the street market, a report said.
In Gumaca, police also arrested Ronald Escobar in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Buensuceso at 8:15 p.m. Seized were 6.5 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth P44,200.
In Lopez town, authorities caught Judel Hutalla and Mark Aljon Asilo with three plastic sachets of shabu worth P1,360 in Barangay San Francisco around 9 p.m.
