22 back in Leyte through ‘Balik Probinsiya’ clear in coronavirus tests
TACLOBAN CITY—At least 22 persons, who had returned to Leyte through a government program that offered free transportation, had tested negative for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Samples taken from them were among 90 from beneficiaries of the Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pagasa program that had been brought to by the Department of Health (DOH) to the TB Reference Laboratory Molecular Facility for COVID-19 in Cebu City.
Results of tests for 68 others have yet to be released.
So far, eight beneficiaries of the Balik Probinsiya program in Leyte had tested positive for coronavirus.
Dr. Minerva Molon, DOH regional director, reminded Leyte folk not to discriminate against returning individuals.
“They are victims of circumstances and they did not like being positive for the virus,” she said.
